Abstract

HIGUITA-LOPEZ, Daimer; MOLANO-VELANDIA, Jorge Hernando  and  RODRIGUEZ-MERCHAN, María Fernanda. Necessary Skills Among Research Groups at the Universidad Nacional de Colombia that Work to Generate Technologically Based Developments. Innovar [online]. 2011, vol.21, n.41, pp.209-224. ISSN 0121-5051.

The purpose of this study was to identify a set of skills that would be required by research groups that aim to generate innovation, associating the category of skills with innovation and the research process. In carrying out the research, 52 leaders of research groups at the Universidad Nacional de Colombia were consulted that have technologically based developments and that in the 2009 Colciencias convocation appear as groups A and A1. The information was gathered through surveys and a focus group. The identified skills were addressed in two ways. First of all, they were classified as general skills, associated with the research process and referring to innovation. Secondly, a set of the most important skills is shown, in accordance with the existing relationship between them. The document ends by suggesting an analysis of the current situation of these groups, to establish how close or how far they are from reaching those skills along with others not dealt with in the study.

Keywords : Skills; research process; technological base; research group.
