Abstract

RIBES-GINER, Gabriela. Technology transference in the process of acquisition of a company that supplies coverings for automobile interiors. Innovar [online]. 2012, vol.22, n.44, pp.41-50. ISSN 0121-5051.

This work aims to study how processes for knowledge and technology transference affect mergers and acquisitions processes (M & A) of companies and particularly application to the acquisition process between two supply sector companies of the automotive industry. A bibliographical review was made of the diverse authors who have researched mergers and acquisition processes of companies from the organizational point of view. The main factors to be taken into account in analyzing the study have been extracted from this review. The methodology used is that of the case study in which a longitudinal case of explicative character is selected. The results are given following the case study and the main conclusions are formulated, the synergies that have been achieved in this acquisition and the effects of the factors studied. Emphasis is placed on the importance of prior experience in mergers and acquisitions at the participating companies to ensure a successful acquisition process.
