Abstract

BAQUERO, Sergio Angel  and  BARRERO ESCOBAR, Fredy Andrés. Notes About The Main Disciplinary Discussions of Political Theory. Estud. Polit. [online]. 2013, n.43, pp.39-57. ISSN 0121-5167.

This paper aims to give an account of the main discussions of political theory over the last decade in the English literature. For this reason it is divided into four parts: the first deals with show changes and continuities in American Political Science during the first and second half of the twentieth century; the second focuses on the paradigmatic cases of the discipline in the East and West; the third refers to trends in the field in the main manuals; and the fourth points to the challenges of the discipline in the context of the transformations of recent years. The method of the article is a state of the art about the field of political theory based on the manuals of Political Science and some of the most important journals of the discipline in the English language world.

Keywords : Political Science; Political Theory; Scientistic Approaches; American Political Science Asociation (APSA); Perestroika Movement; Interdisciplinarity.
