Abstract

TORO BEDOYA, Gladys. An Approach to a Communication Model for Development and Peace in Contexts of Vulnerability. Estud. Polit. [online]. 2015, n.46, pp.125-146. ISSN 0121-5167.

What conceptual elements must a communication model for peace and development have, in order to foster new conditions for peaceful coexistence and a dignity for inhabitants in contexts of vulnerability? Starting with the systematization of communication proposals implemented during the first decade of twenty first century in the eastern region of Antioquia, Colombia, and contrasting this with effective contributions to peaceful coexistence and improvement of living conditions, this article proposes a communication model for peace and development. The model is characterized by its dialogical, critical, participatory and inclusive purposes, emphasizing on development and peace, starting with the recognition of the contexts in which people give meaning to their everyday lives.
