This article approaches to the National Policy on Aging and the Elderly and its implementation carried out in four municipalities of the Aburra Valley: Medellin, Envigado, Bello, and Barbosa. The main focus is on the policy actors and how they are linked to actions that are framed in specific axes of the policy in question, allowing to observe its development. Through the generation, collection, systematization, and analysis of primary and secondary information derived from a documentary review, interviews, and participant observation, the different institutional, economic, academic or social actors related to this policy were identified, who play an important role in the implementation process. As a result, it is evident that there is a relationship between the number of actions implemented and the number of actors participating. Thus, it is important to establish the need and importance of the involvement of stakeholders with different resources and capacities in each axis of the policy, in order to achieve a greater development and impact of it.
