Abstract

This article explores what was the strategy adopted by the agrarian movement of Sumapaz and East Tolima to the exclusion and persecution, caused by the political agreement which, according to the testimony from farmers in this region, led to the National Front. To address this question, we resort to a file that was working as laborers implemented a strategy of civil resistance that they protected them from a new armed confrontation with the state and allowed them to reach the position of their organization as a legitimate political actor in their region guided by their leader Juan de la Cruz Varela, the main promoter of this strategy.
