Abstract
FORIGUA ROJAS, Emersson. LAS NUEVAS GUERRAS: UN ENFOQUE DESDE LAS ESTRUCTURAS ORGANIZACIONALES. Pap.polit. [online]. 2006, vol.11, n.1, pp.305-352. ISSN 0122-4409.
Mary Kaldor postulates that after the end of the Cold War a change took place in the nature of war. In the XXI century, this change has forced States to fight a different type of war from that of the XX century. In this paper, we depart from the opinions expressed by Mary Kaldor in he book New Wars: Organized Violence in the global age (2001 in the sense that the transformation has changed the objectives of) war, the methods of financing them and war strategies. Therefore, with respect to the three aforementioned changes, a fourth element which is used as the starting point has been added, the organizational structure. This paper proposes the study of wars from the theory of the organizational structure. Using Kaldor's three arguments to help construct a clearer image of organizations in general and those that fight in the new war. To illustrate this, the analysis is done in relation to the criteria given to the FARC in order to show 1. The relevancy of an analysis from an organizational structure perspective. 2. The usefulness of thinking differently from organizations such as the FARC and the strategies implemented to confront them.
