Abstract

This article is a study of the political thought of Joaquín Mosquera y Figueroa. It shows his vast academic, administrative efficiency and the role he played in Santa Fe hearings, Mexico and Caracas first conspiracies against the Creoles, before the political crisis of 1808. After this, the article highlights the prominence acquired Mosquera Cadiz. Although dismissed from the post of director of the Central Board, who worked as Counselor of the Indies, and then, as a member and chairman of the third Regency. From this high office, addressed several manifestos to the peninsular and american spanish, telegraphing their traditional thinking. Also, he had the task of punishing the Political Constitution of the Spanish Monarchy on March 19th, 1812.
