Abstract

Leucism (or partial albinism) in five species of leaf-nosed bats in Colombia: Anoura caudifer, Lonchophylla robusta, Carollia brevicauda, Artibeus lituratus and Dermanura rosenbergi are reported. The specimens present an unusual color pattern in their hair and/or membranes. A. caudifer, A. lituratus and C. brevicauda specimen present absence of pigmentation on ears, nose-leaf and wings, and L. robusta, C. brevicauda and D. rosenbergi specimens have no pigmentation in their hair.
