Abstract
BAUTISTA, Luis Gabriel; CARDONA, Javier Antonio; SOTO, Alberto and EUGENIA VELEZ, Patricia. ENTOMOPATHOGENIC ACTIVITY OF THREE FUNGI ON Hortensia similis (HEMIPTERA: CICADELLIDAE) AND Collaria scenica (HEMIPTERA: MIRIDAE) IN SILVOPASTORAL SYSTEMS. Bol. Cient. Mus. Hist. Nat. Univ. Caldas [online]. 2014, vol.18, n.1, pp.188-196. ISSN 0123-3068.
Hortensia similis and Collaria scenica are pest insects that cause economic damage to pastures; for their control farm workers use highly contaminating synthetic chemical products. The objective of this work was to evaluate the entomopathogenic capacity of the Beauveria bassiana, Metarhizium anisopliae and Paecilomyces lilacinus fungi both in an individual manner and in a mixture on the pest insects at the field level. The fungi were applied in 2.5 and 5.0 g/L doses on 10 individuals of the insects located in cages covered with muslin and located in the Tesorito Farm at Universidad de Caldas. B. bassiana caused a mortality of 20% on C. scenic while application of fungi in mixture caused 18% mortality in H. similis. Microbiological agents evaluated present a viable option for regulation of these pest insects.
