Geastrum triplex for the Colombian microbiota is recorded for the first time from basidiomata collected in the village of Santa Helena, municipality of Gachalá, Department of Cundinamarca. Information on distribution, ecology and growth substrate of the species is provided, described and illustrated. The Geastrum genus is represented in Colombia by five species: G. mirabile; G. rufescens; G. saccatum; G. subiculosum and G. triplex.
