Abstract

Objective:
To describe the Atlides dahnersi female (Balint, Constantino & Johnson, 2003) and the Adelpha justina maira male (Orellana, 1996), two rare species restricted to the Colombian Andes and the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, respectively.
Scope:
A taxonomic data review of each species is carried out, and the description of the Atlides dahnersi female and the Adelpha justina maira male, which were unknown until now.
Methodology:
the manuscript is based on material collected by the author in the last 10 years.
Main results:
The provenance of the name is presented, the distribution of the two species is improved, and photographs of the Atlides dahnersi male and female and the male forms of Adelpha justina maira are included.
Conclusions:
this work contributes to the knowledge of the lepidopteran species of Colombia and their distribution.
