Abstract

NASCIMENTO, Vagner Ferreira do  and  DAIBEM, Ana Maria Lombardi. PROFESSORS' PERCEPTIONS OF THE WORK ENVIRONMENT. pers.bioét. [online]. 2020, vol.24, n.1, pp.28-42.  Epub Apr 06, 2021. ISSN 0123-3122.  https://doi.org/10.5294/pebi.2020.24.1.3.

Descriptive-interpretive study with a qualitative approach, conducted at a public university in Brazil. Its aim is to explore professors' perceptions of the work environment. The study used an interview guided by a semi-structured survey. Data analysis was based on content analysis. The work environment was found to be degraded either by unhealthy labor relations or problems with the management of work dynamics and activities. This poses a risk for professors' health and demands more attention from managers, especially in terms of promoting a more equal and fairer workplace.

Keywords : Universities; professor; working conditions; occupational risks; social environment; interpersonal relations.
