Abstract

GONZALEZ RUIZ, Miguel Alejandro; GOMEZ DAZA, Luis Eduardo  and  SANTA GUZMAN, Luis Fernando. Generalized Linear Model with Beta Answer to Study the Index of Water Shortage in the Colombian Caribbean Including Spatial Effects. Perspectiva Geográfica [online]. 2015, vol.20, n.1, pp.175-202.  Epub Jan 31, 2024. ISSN 0123-3769.

The analysis of spatial data is responsible for inspecting, selecting, and transformation of data in order to display useful information. This article seeks to explain by analyzing spatial data behavior and distribution of water scarcity index in the Colombian Caribbean region. A selection of variables which take into account the distribution of the resource, the sociodemographic characteristics and resource distribution in terms of the amount of precipitation is done; techniques are used to assess the presence of spatial dependence which reveals a need after applying an exploratory data analysis, including spatial effects in the estimation of the parameters of statistical models.

Keywords : spatial effects; water scarcity; spatial statistics; scarcity index; Generalized lineal Models (GLM).
