Abstract

DIAZ OLARIAGA, Oscar. Recent development and current relevance of airport commercial revenues. estud.gerenc. [online]. 2015, vol.31, n.137, pp.393-402. ISSN 0123-5923.  https://doi.org/10.1016/j.estger.2015.05.003.

This article analyzes the recent evolution and importance of non-aeronautical (or commercial) airport revenues today. Based on the above, it is found that commercial revenues represent about half of the total income of airports around the world. On this basis, this paper explores some key factors that influence commercial revenues, such as passenger profile, type of airport, trends in consumption, the evolution of business strategies, changes in the formulas of ownership and management of airports, and other new developments. These factors help to understand how airport managers adapt to the changes affecting airport revenues, take advantage of new opportunities and design new concepts
