Abstract
NINO NINO, Edilberto. Determining the accuracy of digital terrain surface by using profiles. Tecnura [online]. 2010, vol.14, n.27, pp.69-74. ISSN 0123-921X.
The accuracy of a digital terrain surface (SDT) is difficult to determine efficiently. In most cases, this procedure is performed based on control points obtained by GPS technology at a high cost, and what you get is a very general estimate. This, since this procedure allows for the accuracy of digital terrain surface only locally or about each control point and must assume homogeneous behavior of the heights across the surface. However, this is not always true. The method that arises is based on the use of profiles extracted from the surface. This method is possible to calculate the relative accuracy of digital terrain surface, on an area of greater accuracy. To make the process using two digital terrain surfaces, this has been taken as reference. Are plotted as number of profiles in each surface, with the same coordinates and performs a statistical comparison to determine the differences of the examined surface heights compared to the one taken as reference.
