Abstract
URBINA ROJAS, Wilson Fabián and MARTINEZ SANTA, Fernando. Implementing electromyographic equipment through USB interfaces. Tecnura [online]. 2012, vol.16, n.33, pp.117-130. ISSN 0123-921X.
This paper describes the design and implementation of electromyographic equipment that permits capturing and processing the muscle-electric signals sensed on skin surface. This equipment consists of a signal-conditioning stage (amplification and filtering), followed by analog-to-digital conversion, signal processing and data transmission using a USB port. Finally, there is a recording system that allows signal visualization through a software application designed using LabView. This device has the advantage of using PSoC microcontrollers, which reduce the use of external components due their "on line" reconfiguration and their capability to process analog and digital signals. As a result, practical and low-cost electromyographic equipment is obtained, achieving the aims set by DIGITI Research Group. These results will be of use in future projects that are expected to result in a user's interface for quadriplegic people.
