Abstract

GARNIER, Jean-Pierre. THE 'GRAND PARIS' URBANIZATION WITHOUT URBANITY. Lefebvrians premonitions about future metropolitan. Bitácora Urbano Territorial [online]. 2014, vol.24, n.1, pp.83-94. ISSN 0124-7913.

What is the main reason to be of the "Greater Paris" urban project? Officially, to face up to world competition between "world cities" With this answer: metropolization. What does this concept means which goes along in the urban field with globalization in the economic field? It seems interesting to take some conceptual tools from the critical thinker of the urban reality, Henri Lefebvre. With these, we can try to bring to light what Greater Paris conceals and to foresee its likely impact on the daily life of the inhabitants.

Keywords : globalization metropolization; centralization; segregation; polarization; elitization.
