Abstract

JENSEN, Karina  and  BIRCHE, Mariana. The community perception of urban space. La Plata, Argentina. Bitácora Urbano Territorial [online]. 2021, vol.31, n.3, pp.27-40.  Epub Sep 20, 2021. ISSN 0124-7913.  https://doi.org/10.15446/bitacora.v31n3.87796.

The main objective of the work is to deepen the knowledge about the perception of the urban environment by the inhabitants of the city of La Plata. For this, a semi-structured survey was carried out, which allowed gathering the necessary data to inquire about the perception of the city and the urban landscape. The most interesting results were reunited into two groups: population preferences and main conflicts. Within the former, it was determined that there is a certain preference for large green spaces, and within the latter, the comments mainly referred to urban accessibility issues. Currently it is of utmost importance to know the experience of those who live the city landscape, in order to build information from primary sources that contribute to the improvement of the urban environment and the quality of life of the population.

Keywords : perception; urban space; landscape.
