Abstract

ORDAZ ZUBIA, Velia Yolanda; AYALA, Elvia Guadalupe  and  PUY Y ALQUIZA, María Jesús. Urban planning, neighborhoods and community construction Guanajuato, Mexico. Bitácora Urbano Territorial [online]. 2021, vol.31, n.3, pp.81-93.  Epub Sep 20, 2021. ISSN 0124-7913.  https://doi.org/10.15446/bitacora.v31n3.87331.

This article is made up of three central sections. In the first two a review of two multidimensional theoretical constructs is made; the urban structure and the conceptualization and traditional attributes of the neighborhood. It should be noted that the interest in explaining the socio-spatial interactions that are generated between the territory and its inhabitants is combined, in both definitions, and it is just by overlapping these notions that a planning proposal is generated that endorses the creation and development of communities from your basic sociability unit. This proposal is based on carrying out research and urban projects carried out for just over a decade (2010-2020) in the World Heritage city of Guanajuato, Guanajuato, Mexico, which are set out in the third and last section. Thus, this article seeks to reformulate traditional urban planning, closing with a methodological strategy in which it is possible to integrate daily practices and the changing configuration of space that have arisen from the 16th century to the present day.

Keywords : community development; development planning; industrial heritage; community.
