Abstract

Objective:
characterize young smokers in the city of Popayan in the practice of physical exercise.
Methodology:
we performed a cross sectional study with adolescent students belonging to a public school in the city of Popayan, applied a questionnaire structured to identify the sociodemographic characteristics, information on smoking and physical exercise.
Results:
men are those who are smoking more compared to women with 79.3%, just as are those who perform more exercise with a 58.6%, the age at which we observed a higher cigarette consumption as practice of physical exercise is at 17 with 55.2% and 44.8 respectively.
Conclusions:
we found that there was a relationship in the habit of smoking with physical exercise, agreeing that the majority of adolescents who reported smoking are doing some physical exercise.
