Abstract

PUERTA LOPERA, Isabel Cristina; DUSSAN LUBERT, Carmen; MONTOYA LONDONO, Diana Marcela  and  LANDINEZ MARTINEZ, Daniel. STANDARDIZATION OF NEUROPSYCHOLOGICAL TESTS TO ASSESS LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY IN UNIVERSITY STUDENTS. Investig. andina [online]. 2018, vol.20, n.36, pp.103-122.  Epub Mar 30, 2018. ISSN 0124-8146.

Objective.

This research shows the results of a study of test standardization to assess language proficiency.

Methodology.

The sample consisted of 208 university students from Manizales, in the case of Controlled Oral Word Association Test (COW) -FAS, and 125 students, in the case of the Boston Denomination Test (TDB).

Analysis plan.

The validity of appearance was developed through expert judgment, and the content, using a principal component analysis. The validity of the concurrent criterion was carried out through the Spearman correlation coefficient; the internal consistency with the Cronbach alpha coefficient; the consistency related to the time of application and the consistency related to the application by different evaluators, through the proportion of correct answers, the Wilcoxon and the Spearman correlation coefficient test.

Results.

There was evidence of adequate content validity and reliability related to the application of different evaluators for those tests included in the research. Likewise, adequate validity of concurrent criteria, internal consistency, pretest - posttest reliability and between different evaluators was established for the task of the COW - FAS, and low validity of concurrent criteria and pretest - posttest reliability for the case of BNT.
