Abstract
FLOREZ ZULUAGA, Jimmy Anderson et al. A Data Fusion System for Simulating Critical Scenarios and Decision-Making. Cienc. Ing. Neogranad. [online]. 2020, vol.30, n.1, pp.89-106. Epub Aug 16, 2020. ISSN 0124-8170. https://doi.org/10.18359/rcin.4131.
Decision-making (DM) in critical environments is a complex process that can be simulated due to current telematic capabilities, which allow real-time interaction with large amounts of data. This document describes the proposed architecture from a research project conducted by the Colombian Air Force (FAC) Aerospace Technology Development Center for Defense (CETAD). Using computerized and expert system tools, such architecture allows creating a real-time computer environment for the decision-maker to evaluate their options and prepare for real events, simulating characteristics, resources, and strategies. This paper describes a research product that resulted in a simulation system, based on a combination of fuzzy logic, genetic algorithms, and decision trees. These contribute to modeling and simulating various entities and their automatic response according to simulated patterns and situations. Then, using operators, the decision-maker can modify entity behavior within parameterized restrictions and physical conditions. Also, based on business intelligence tools, reports are generated to evaluate the decisions made. This type of technology improves planning capacity and facilitates the decision-making process. The system allows simulating any media deployment in the context of national security and critical events. Thus, a case study is developed for implementing a support-oriented simulation in a natural disaster scenario.
