Soil conservation is a priority for all sectors of society, because its deterioration impacts adversely on other components of nature and social groups that need soil. Therefore, it is important to maintain quality and soil health, for that society can guarantee food security and enjoy ecosystem services provided by this natural resource. In this article are reviewed the central concepts that seek to explain the relationship of soil with nature and people.
