Abstract

BARBOSA-C., IVÁN; URIBE-M., JAIME  and  CAMPOS, LAURA. The liverworts of Santa María (Boyacá, Colombia) and surrounding area. Caldasia [online]. 2007, vol.29, n.1, pp.39-49. ISSN 0366-5232.

Ninety species of liverworts are reported. They include 48 genera and 18 families; 73 of these are leafy liverworts and 17 are thalloid. The family with the greatest number of genera and species is the Lejeuneaceae, with 20 and 30 respectively. Sixty three new records were found for Boyacá. The greatest number of species (46) were collected on rocks, followed by those on bark. Floristic composition of the altitudinal belts showed that each belt has a very distinct brioflora.

Keywords : Altitudinal belt; Boyacá; diversity; liverworts; Santa María.
