Abstract
FIGUEROA-C., YISELA and GALEANO, GLORIA. Checklist of the vascular plants of Andean arid region of la Tatacoa (Huila, Colombia). Caldasia [online]. 2007, vol.29, n.2, pp.263-281. ISSN 0366-5232.
The floristic inventory of the Andean arid region of La Tatacoa (High Magdalena valley, Huila, Colombia) is presented. There were found 223 species in 170 genera and 60 families. At the floristic level, the family Leguminosae is the most diverse one with 36 species and 28 genera, followed by Poaceae (20/15), Euphorbiaceae (13/6), Asteraceae (10/10) and Cactaceae (8/7). Herbs were the richest life form followed by the woody elements (trees, shrubs and dwarf shrubs), and the majority of the species was found in the open areas and the creek margins zones. Four chorological novelties were found, including the first record of Senna uniflora for the colombian flora.
