FERNANDEZ M., Carlos E.; RAMIREZ, Maicol and RUBIO R., Efraín A.. INFLUENCIAS DE UN RELLENO SANITARIO SOBRE LA COMPOSICIÓN, ABUNDANCIA Y DISPERSIÓN DIURNA DE LOS PECES EN LA QUEBRADA EL VENADO, CORREGIMIENTO DE CÓRDOBA, MUNICIPIO DE BUENAVENTURA (VALLE DEL CAUCA, COLOMBIA). Rev. acad. colomb. cienc. exact. fis. nat. [online]. 2011, vol.35, n.135, pp.213-224. ISSN 0370-3908.
The composition, abundance and dispersion of the present fish during the day in the El Venado stream, located in the locality of Córdoba, municipality of Buenaventura, Valle del Cauca, Colombia, was studied during 2009. The stream is one of the tributaries of the Dagua river that ends in the Buenaventura Bay, in the Pacific coast of Colombia. Six monthly samplings were done with the electrofishing technique (Lagler, 1956), identifying 37 species of fish until species level and 9 morphotypes until genera. The orders Characifomes (Family Characidae) and Siluriformes (Family Loricariidae) dominated among the fish in the stream during the study, mainly at the stations nearby the landfill site. On the station 3 the number of species (n = 23), families (n = 13) and orders (n = 4) was low in relation to the other stations. In general, the fish registered better communities before the landfill site. Due to their adapting features, some fish stand better (Family Loricariidae) water qualities after the landfill station than other fish (Family Characidae).
