Abstract

MINANA BLASCO, CARLOS. MUSIC AND FIESTA IN THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE NASA TERRITORY (COLOMBIA). Rev. colomb. antropol. [online]. 2008, vol.44, n.1, pp.123-155. ISSN 0486-6525.

The Nasa people in the Andean southwest of Colombia, reaffirm and construct their territories on a daily basis, not only through legal means, working or fighting for the land but also through rituals, fiestas, music and dances. Based on several years of fieldwork, the article points towards significant links and continuities between the territories of pre-Columbian chiefdoms and the frontiers marked and celebrated in current ritual and musical practices.

Keywords : Nasa; fiestas; music; territories; Cauca (Colombia).
