Abstract

Health-related quality of life (HRQL) is an assessment concept significant to clinical decisions. We examine bioethical aspect in multi-items questionnaires and clinical practice by documental review of 7 HRQL generic validate instrument and by 15 experts opinions expressed in opinion poll and 5 interview. In opinion poll we estimate the affirmative answer frequency about the existence of bioethical domains in Health-related quality of life instrument and medical practice. Interviews enquire about bioethics dilemmas in HRQL study. Bioethical domains lack in all revised instrument, in agree with experts opinions. Knowledge about bioethics of health-related quality of life is lacking in medical care practice, in issues surrounding informed consent, dilemmas in end-of-life care, individual autonomy/beneficence balance, circumstances and consequences of health care medical decisions among others. Experts think that stressful life and socioeconomic conditions, equality and inequity and sustainable environment dilemmas, must be include in study of HRQL.
