Abstract

GAMEZ GUTIERREZ, Jorge. APPROACH TO DISPLACEMENT FORCED BY VIOLENCE. rev.latinoam.bioet. [online]. 2013, vol.13, n.2, pp.104-125. ISSN 1657-4702.

The internal conflict in Colombia that covers the last half century has produced a number of human rights violations, almost 10% of the population has been displaced from their dwelling places with serious economic and social consequences. At some point displaced people change their status; however, the losses for the country are incalculable. The Constitutional Court has issued judgments that recognize responsibility of the State and forces it to repair as far as possible to people in a situation of displacement, PSD, a situation that is assumed from several approaches. This paper derived from a doctoral research at the University of Nebrija, Spain, and describes the types of migration and difference between refugees and IDPs, presents a theoretical approach to the phenomenon of displacement, how violence has uprooted peasants and ethnic minorities, and shows some figures and the ways in which the State addresses this humanitarian crisis.

Keywords : Displacement; violence; refugees; migrants; rooting; State.
