Abstract

GARZON-GODOY, Yeny Fabiola  and  PINEDA DUQUE, Javier Armando. Working Conditions of Private School Teachers. Soc. Econ. [online]. 2022, n.46, e10611210.  Epub May 05, 2022. ISSN 1657-6357.  https://doi.org/10.25100/sye.v0i46.11210.

This article analyzes the working conditions of elementary and middle school teachers in private educational institutions in Bogotá, based on the concepts of quality of work and teaching work. The research methodology was mixed, and the instruments used to collect information were an electronic survey addressed to teachers and semi-structured interviews. The results obtained were analyzed within the framework of ten analytical categories: income, job stability, single job, union membership, working hours, number of students, degree of satisfaction, material working conditions, social working conditions, and physical and mental health conditions. It is argued that, for at least half of the teachers in private schools, their working conditions are of poor quality.

Keywords : docentes; educación básica y media; condiciones de trabajo docente; calidad del trabajo.
