Abstract
TORRADO DUARTE, Ornar Elías; PRADA SARMIENTO, Edward Leonel and SANTOS SANTOS, Alírio. Análisis psicométrico del Cuestionario de Reconocimiento de Emociones Faciales (CREF): indicadores en población colombiana. Pensam. psicol. [online]. 2012, vol.10, n.2, pp.103-112. ISSN 1657-8961.
Objective. In the absence of a tool for the study of facial emotion recognition in the Colombian context, this research aimed to determine, among a bank of 88 ítems, reagents which present optimum psychometric properties of reliability and validity to describe the tendency of human facial emotion recognition. The facial expressions studied correspond to the basic emotions devised by Ekman (2003) happiness, disgust, anger, fear, surprise and sadness, as well as an emotionally neutral expression. Method. 89 university students (50 women and 39 men) were selected using probability sampling, from various fields of study, with a mean age of 21.7 (D.E. 3.64) years. The instrument used was the Facial Emotion Recognition Questionnaire (FERQ)- created by Gasbarri et al. (2008) - which contains 88 photographs of emotionally expressive and neutral faces. Results. 28 images were identified that showed the highest level of recognition by university students, given that we selected two female faces and two male faces for each facial expression. Conclusión. The 28 selected pictures facilitate greater validity of the design of future research in facial emotion recognition to Colombian population applications.
