Abstract

RUIZ VALENCIA, Daniel; LOPEZ PEREZ, Cecilia  and  RIVERA, Juan Carlos. Propuesta de normativa para la rehabilitación símica de edificaciones patrimoniales. Apuntes [online]. 2012, vol.25, n.2, pp.226-239. ISSN 1657-9763.

With the purpose of contributing to the solution of the seismic problem of earthen constructions, investigations have been made in the best Colombian universities, focused on the properties of materials and the behavior of the structural earth systems when subject to seismic forces. These investigations have been innovating and have been based on international studies. Nevertheless, in order for these studies to have a real impact, they must be included in the earthquake Colombian resistant code (NSR-10), which at the moment does not include specific sections on how to rehabilitate earth constructions subjected to seismic forces. Therefore the authors, who have worked for more than one decade in rehabilitation and restoration of earth constructions, present in this document a draft proposal for the seismic rehabilitation of earth buildings in order to be included in the next update of the earthquake resistant code of the Republic of Colombia. This document is a draft of a proposed rule that the authors want, in the near future, to present to the Colombian Association of Seismic Engineering, the Colombian Society of Engineers and the Colombian Association of Structural Engineering for it to be studied, analyzed and worked as a development basis regulating the seismic rehabilitation of patrimonial buildings on land in Colombia. The authors also wish to thank the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana and especially the Faculties of Architecture and Design and Engineering for their support for the implementation of this proposal.

Keywords : Seismic rehabilitation; earth buildings; earthquake resistant code.
