Abstract
ORTIZ JIMENEZ, William. Sobre la paz y los diálogos: Consideraciones sobre el papel de la sociedad civil. Opin. jurid. [online]. 2006, vol.5, n.10, pp.51-62. ISSN 1692-2530.
This article makes a reflection on the peace process that took place during the Administration of President Andrés Pastrana and the participation the civil society had in this matter. But it also transcends to the current situation of the conflict in Colombia. The postulates of many theoreticians, -among which we highlight Daniel Pécaut, Cohen, Arato, Margarita Bonamusa, Maria Teresa Uribe, Daniel Gracía-Peña, Habermas, Rawls, among others-, strengthen a theoretical framework with a very solid reference to show how the public is indispensable in the annotations that would lead to solving the conflicts. Without the concurrence of the public, the participation of the civil society would not be viable either. The spaces for solving a conflict, the agora, citing the words of Hanna Arends, make the essential place for the discussion, the consensus, and the agreements. In politics, the public sphere is weighs more than the private one because the acknowledgement of the liberties, the manifestations, and the plenitudes of rights can only be achieved in common places.
