Abstract
BOLANO SANDOVAL, Adalberto. Agua del tiempo muerto: the recividism of the landscape and memory in José Ramón Mercado’s poetry. Encuentros [online]. 2017, vol.15, n.2, pp.37-58. ISSN 1692-5858. https://doi.org/10.15665/re.v15i2.995.
In Agua del tiempo muerto José Ramon Mercado resumes some of the topics seen in No solo poemas (1971) on his first and second chapter: the house, the people, the region and the family memory. One objective of this paper is to develop a proposal that marketdevelops poetry of experience seeking “vivencializar” last. Similarly, it is proposed that this work is a geo-cultural poetry, one geopoetics by the conjunction of terms such as image, time and space. The proposal, a hermeneutic and comparativemethodology based on authors such as Derek Walcott, Fernando Ainsa, Thomeu Vidal and Martin Heidegger was applied. We conclude that this poetry combines not only nature but ecological and historical by “images-words ”that representan attempt to transmit a culture in which it articulates with memory, identity and nature.
