Abstract
VAZQUEZ-CEBALLOS, Cristo Avimael. Juvenile citizen participation as a governmental external resource. Rev.latinoam.cienc.soc.niñez juv [online]. 2011, vol.9, n.1, pp.45-59. ISSN 1692-715X.
The issue of the low youth participation has been part of the governmental agendas of several Latin-American countries, including Mexico. Scholars have expressed profound concern not only regarding the overall low levels of citizen participation and political activism, but, especially among young people. Particularly worrying is the trend of increasing passiveness and reluctance among youth to participate in politics. However, such manifestations of political disaffection are, perhaps, expressive forms of the capacity to condition and, possibly, to mobilize one of the main resources that young people have, their participation.
Keywords : youth participation; government; tools (of involvement) to participate and resources.
