DOMINGUEZ, María Isabel and CASTILLA, Claudia. Participatory practices in groups of young people in Havana City. Rev.latinoam.cienc.soc.niñez juv [online]. 2011, vol.9, n.1, pp.141-160. ISSN 1692-715X.
This article explores the notion of participation in different sectors of youth in Havana City and how this is articulated with the practices that carry out in the politics's formal spaces, framed in collective actions guided to the common well in institutions, organizations and communities. The hypothesis was that the diversity (structural, cultural, subjective) should be influencing in the configuration of political subjectivities and consequently in their participation forms. The results confirm the hypothesis and show the existence of wide and diverse participatory practices that they overflow the political environment, where "the collective" is not only in the organizational forms but, mainly, in the aims that are pursued. At the same time, some paradoxes are identified, based in the youth participation notion, often limited to movilization instead of decision taking.
