Abstract

Within the framework of a doctoral research project which problematizes the political process of state configuration and the participation of young men and women in them, the article presents the result synthesis of a pilot study whose main objective was to explore the meanings assigned to youth citizenship, youth and state in the World Bank's discourses regarding this topic. Using as method some modalities of Critical Discourse Analysis, the results show the argumentative strategies through which citizenship operates, within a political economies' complex dispositive, as instrument of government over state's and youth's identities.
