Abstract
ALVES DA ROCHA, Sérgio Luiz. Experience and tradition in Walter Benjamin and its resonance for education: Resonancias para la educación. Rev.latinoam.cienc.soc.niñez juv [online]. 2016, vol.14, n.1, pp.121-132. ISSN 1692-715X. https://doi.org/10.11600/1692715x.1417090915.
The educational process put generations together. The latest changes made the teachers assume sometimes a nostalgic perspective, holding the past and denying the present, and other times accept a speech that values, on an extreme way, the youth and the new. The focus on the older’ s experience with the devaluation of the younger’ s experience or on the younger’ s experience denying the older’ s experience keeps us from establishing links between the generations. I use some Walter Benjamin’ s texts to reflect about the meaning of experience and tradition. The reflection about such Benjamin ideas made me think about the relation between the generations inside the school from one ethical attitude, that recognizes our role as representatives of one tradition and that still makes us open for the youth’ s experiences.
