This article is the result of a study of emotional intelligence. The overall objective of the research was to analyze the profile of emotional and social intelligence in a sample of 110 primary teachers that work in ten schools in the city of Medellin. The study uses a descriptive, non-experimental and correlational approach. It is supported by a simple, random and stratified probabilistic methodology. The results obtained from the profiles that were constructed include: self-regulation, motivation, empathy, time assertive methods, effective methods and judging oneself. The study detects a correlation with a trend towards zero between the variables. In conclusion, emotional and social of intelligence primary school teachers tends to recognize their abilities, limitations and sensitivity to personal learning and their influence on students.
