Abstract
BLANDON-HINCAPIE, Aleida Isabel and LOPEZ-SERNA, Lina María. Understandings about couples today: Youth in search of stability. Rev.latinoam.cienc.soc.niñez juv [online]. 2016, vol.14, n.1, pp.505-517. ISSN 1692-715X. https://doi.org/10.11600/1692715x.14134271014.
Objective: To develop a comprehensive picture of the relationships of couples before they live together, based on the meanings and forms of configuration for young 18 to 25 years old. Method: A phenomenological hermeneutic approach was used and in-depth interviews were conducted. Results: new configurations of couples have appeared that include "friends with rights", "parche", "sexual relations" and "virtual relations" in relations that involve love, trust and the construction of intimacy. Conclusion: While there are now new ways to create and be in a couple that reflect the characteristics of uncertainty, constant transience and individuality, young people continue to search for strong and stable ties that link them with the possibility of building future and projections that contribute to their wellbeing and health.
