Abstract
OTALVARO-MARIN, Bairon and VERGARA-ARGOTTY, Claudia Elena. Evaluation of Public Policy for Young People in Cali (Colombia). Rev.latinoam.cienc.soc.niñez juv [online]. 2016, vol.14, n.1, pp.519-530. ISSN 1692-715X. https://doi.org/10.11600/1692715x.14135191114.
This article presents the results of the evaluation of the Youth Public Policy for the Municipality of Santiago de Cali (Colombia) in the period between 2006 and 2013, assessing the progress and constraints that local government faces in responding to the demands of this sector of the population. The conceptual frameworks used in this exercise were designed to assess the policy, identify meaning and produce knowledge regarding youth participation and interaction for this public policy. The methodology that was developed by the authors is qualitative and is designed to understand processes and outcomes of social interventions from the perspective of young people. The main result of this evaluation is the ignorance of young public policy among adults and institutions and the absence of information systems that guide decision-making.
