he rollout of public education across the country in Argentina and the building of secondary schools in the countryside generated transformations for rural areas and rural youth. This study uses a historical-ethnographic approach to conduct research in the northern area of the province of Entre Ríos. The authors identified that secondary school is a privileged space for the social development of young people, focusing on the Rural Student Festival to understand these youth identities. The youth condition and the student condition are closely linked to rural areas. Rural young people construct identifications that are in opposition to urban students and aligned with the countryside, which they understand as a natural landscape that is unrelated to agricultural and labor activities.
