Introduction:
This reflective article presents a broad perspective of reading as a path to learning while recognizing the importance and need to create environments that promote self-care and caring for others as a basis for social health.
Development:
Advertising (direct, indirect, and covert) of medicines and other pharmaceutical products for children and adolescents, and the reflection on the possible impact of this type of advertising on current problems related to the use, non-use, or misuse of drugs and pharmaceuticals are exposed through a historical overview.
Conclusions:
This study highlights the need to include the proper use of medicines and pharmaceutical products in Health Education programs, with particular attention to the education of children and adolescents, as a critical strategy in proactive pharmacovigilance programs.
