Abstract
BARRIOS FONTALVO, Modesto; TEJADA TOVAR, Candelaria and VILLABONA ORTIZ, Ángel. Method of chloride dissemination profiles for corrosion estimate in marine environments. Prospect. [online]. 2016, vol.14, n.1, pp.23-27. ISSN 1692-8261. https://doi.org/10.15665/rp.v14i1.642.
This paper presents an experimental procedure carried out in 510 days, for thisfour cylindrical specimens were made of two different brands of concrete and two water-cement ratio, we used the chemical method of chloride profile to determine corrosion;therefore, the concentration of total and solvable chloride ions was determined according to the ASTM-114 and ASTM C-1218 rules, plotting chloride percentages vs. radial distance to calculate the critical content of chloride and determine the degree of corrosion in the specimens. For different immersion times of the specimens (180, 360 and 510 days), it was found that the migration of chlorides has a dependency on the strength of the concrete.
