Abstract

This article aims to analyze the investment strategies applied in working capital for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME), of textile sector in the Maicao's municipality, Colombia. The study was approached from a systemic and strategic perspective of financial management, based on the theory of financial structure. The instrument used to collect data was record matrix. The validity was obtained through analysis content test and documentary sources. The results indicate that the companies studied used a moderate strategy to manage working capital as a result of a flexible policy of investment in current assets and an aggressive strategy of financing, characterized by high levels of debt, low performance and high financial risk. It is concluded that companies have no efficient management of working capital which should incorporate long-term financing, equity increase and optimize inventory management.
