Abstract
MORALES CASTRO, Yolanda Rosa. Voting: Influence of short-term factors in the decision of the voters for Mayor in the municipality of Soledad (Atlántico) Colombia, 2011. Justicia Juris [online]. 2015, vol.11, n.1, pp.100-107. ISSN 1692-8571.
This article is about an analysis that considers the influence of short-term factors in the attempt to vote in the last elections for mayor of Soledad, Atlantic coast, Colombia in 2011, comparing the final results of the elections with surveys of voting intentions of the two candidates with the highest favorability. This are based on approaches such as sociological, psychological and economic / rational, which inspired studies of voting behavior, such as the ones conceived by Anthony Downs in his text An Economic Theory of Democracy (Downs 1957). In the explanatory diagram handled for analysis, it was concluded that the short-term factors set the stage for decisions to vote for mayor of Soledad, as they became important for the process of misalignment or loss of partisan ties.
