Abstract

This text explains and problematizes the concept of inclusion in educational field since it implies accepting the neoliberalism that supports it ideologically; thus, it perpetuates the unjust structures of society that, under the binarism that characterizes it, excludes non-Western biocultural knowledge. The background is some texts of Latin American philosophy and intercultural philosophy, from which it is explained that, for neoliberalism, inclusion is useful to sweep away the biocultural beliefs and practices of marginalized communities, trying to homogenize them with Western culture. Since educational inclusion reflects the logic of neoliberalism, the hypothesis points to the need for an intercultural philosophy that defends the beliefs and practices of epistemic diversity. This is justified in that some states promote the inclusion of marginalized populations in the educational and labor systems as a way to counteract the exclusion of the capitalist economic system. However, inclusion imposes Western norms that standardize excluded people. Therefore, instead of encouraging inclusion, interculturality is proposed as an alternative that fosters dialogue among diverse knowledge, which is necessary to build an integrative, transdisciplinary, and complex knowledge.
