The objective of this lines is to analyze some social traits shared by two musical genres with large audiences in Mexico and Colombia. The norteña music and the vallenata music, are analyzed from a general perspective from their diffusion processes and from its junction with distinctive forms of regional identity and an expression of experiences and histories. Both genres have undergone significant transformation processes of diffusion and change of them as spaces that allow expression of popular culture Colombian-Mexican.
