This article aims to contribute to the study of the issues of borders through zoom out on a vast area of the Bolivia - Brazil border between San Matias and Puerto Suárez in the early twentieth century. Article focuses on the processes of regional redefinition of border areas, the performance of the central regional and local autorities, violence related to cattletheft caused by individuals and organized gangs that affected villagers, and above all, to indigenous groups as they are the most vulnerable population. Also, reconstructs the unknown history of the famous Brazilian military movement led by Luis Carlos Prestes -Prestes Column- who was exiled in the territory of Bolivia.
